Fortnite Battle Royale Mode Coming September 26 to Xbox One

This post has been republished via RSS; it originally appeared at: Xbox Wire.

100 players, one giant map, a battle bus, intense PvP combat, and the last player standing wins. This is our Battle Royale mode and it’s in public testing for Fortnite players on Xbox One — and we’d like your help to make it great.

We love Battle Royale games like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and thought Fortnite would make a great foundation for our own version. A few months ago, Epic’s Unreal Tournament team began experimenting with the mode while the original Fortnite team kept updating the core game. To maintain balance, we kept the PvP mode separate from the PvE mode and the new Battle Royale mode turned out to be so much fun we decided to share it with everyone to gather feedback.

This is also a great time for new Fortnite players to jump in, because for one week only from September 12 to 18, we have a 25% discount on our Founder’s Packs.

To find the game mode, start Fortnite and select Battle Royale. We expect the servers to break and other crashes to occur during the test. But, this is just the first version of the mode and we’ll update it and the core Fortnite game throughout its time in early access and into launch.

Now we’re excited to grow the game with the awesome Xbox and Mixer communities; thanks for joining us on the adventure. We’re really excited about our Battle Royale mode and can’t wait for you to play it. The battle is building. Good luck!
