Six Months Later, Raiders of the Broken Planet is a Very Different Game

Roughly six months ago, we shared with you our vision for Raiders of the Broken Planet: an adventure in shooter form. An independent game with triple-A production values that would be delivered episodically, with a significant part of the game — the Eternal Soldier campaignoffered for free. Today we announced the release of Hades Betrayal, the third premium campaign available now on Xbox One and Windows 10, making Raiders of the Broken Planet a very different game from the one we launched in September last year.

Content wise, Hades Betrayal delivers what we sincerely believe are the best missions for Raiders of the Broken Planet yet, introducing three fun new characters: noble Ayana, the hunter Rak, and the spoiled brat Schneider in an action-packed adventure that pits the Raiders against the most powerful military force in the galaxy: The Hades Division. Outgunned, outnumbered, and outclassed (just wait until you meet Aneska), the Raiders need to get sneaky and find unexpected allies to put an end to General Krauser’s plans of dominance over the Broken Planet.

But, exciting as this news is, the new campaign is only the tip of the iceberg. The changes MercurySteam are applying to Raiders of the Broken Planet run much deeper than just adding more new content. The game also introduces a totally revamped progression system, based on the feedback we have received over the last six months from our awesome Raiders community. Now, veteran gamers will find they can progress through the game and unlock new characters, weapons, and Cards using a more refined and balanced system, while new players will step into a more user-friendly environment with defined steps and goals for a more fulfilling gaming experience.

4 vs 1 gameplay remains at the core of Raiders of the Broken Planet. Playing as or against the Antagonist remains an adrenaline-fuelled experience that is not for the faint of heart! Many veteran players revel in this role but felt the rewards were lacking. Antagonists can now obtain Experience Points, Gold, Faction Points and Weapon Blueprints too. Serving the Uras Beherit’s will has never been so rewarding!

Raiders of the Broken Planet is a game in continual evolution. Our vision of delivering a campaign-based adventure and regularly updating it with new Raiders, Weapon Blueprints, and Character Cards has helped to reinforce our relationship with our community. Our goal is to craft a game our players will love and want to return to time and time again.
