DC Universe Online, the free-to-play action combat MMO set in the iconic DC universe, is celebrating Action Comics #1000 and the 80th anniversary of Superman! How does a game celebrate? With new content of course!

Starting May 16, The Death of Superman: Part I will be available to all Xbox One players level 10 and above, taking you to an updated area of Metropolis that shows a city under attack by Doomsday, the supervillain notoriously associated with Superman’s iconic death.

Fight alongside Superman and others as you confront, and ultimately try to stop Doomsday and his destruction of Metropolis. On top of new content, there are new rewards for players to earn, like a new Lobo-inspired gear set called the “Main Man,” in-game comic book collections, and more! The story will continue in June with two more content updates since one content drop for Superman’s big 80th wasn’t quite super enough.

This is one of the best times to jump back into DC Universe Online or to start your adventure for the first time. New to the game, and don’t know where to start? Fear not, as getting started on Xbox One doesn’t require the technical prowess of Batman.

  1. Download DCUO for free on Xbox One (Xbox Live Gold required)
  2. Choose your morality and mentor
  3. Decide your power, weapon, and movement to use in battle
  4. Create and customize your unique character
  5. Begin your adventures in the iconic DC Universe!
