Play the Overwatch Free Trial with Xbox Live Gold Starting November 20

It’s time to assemble your team and join the exciting world of Blizzard’s acclaimed team-based shooter Overwatch!

We’re calling on prospective agents from across the Xbox community to dive in during our longest Overwatch free trial yet on Xbox One. From Tuesday, November 20 at 11:00 a.m. PST to Monday, November 26 at 11:59 p.m. PST, Xbox Live Gold members in participating regions can join their friends in the vibrant action shooter.

Harness amazing abilities that defy the bounds of space, gravity, and time. Use a diverse arsenal of abilities to achieve victory by rewinding time, transforming into rapid-firing turrets, or wielding billboard-sized energy shields. Play across a variety of game modes including Quick Play, Custom Games, and Arcade. You can also play as the newest hero just added to the Overwatch roster: Ashe, outlaw leader of the notorious Deadlock Gang.

Plenty of ways to play

Throughout this free trial, we’re making Overwatch‘s full roster of 29 heroes — including the newly released Ashe — and 26 maps available for play. Escort the payload across Route 66, take control of Lijiang Tower, capture objectives on Horizon Lunar Colony, and more.

Keep your progress

You’ll also be able to level up, earn Loot Boxes, and unlock a variety of different customization options for your heroes. Plus, if you decide to purchase Overwatch after test driving the game, you’ll get to keep any progress that you made during the trial — just be sure to use the same Xbox Live account that you played on (note: your stats will be retained but achievements will be disabled if you do not own the game on your Xbox Live account). In addition, Xbox Live Gold members can get the digital Overwatch Legendary Edition for a discounted price $19.99 (that’s 67% off) from now until November 26 @ 11:59 p.m. PST.

Pre-download now

Starting today, November 15, you can pre-download Overwatch on Xbox One to get ready to play ahead of the free trial. All Xbox One players with an Xbox Live Gold account will be able to download and play Overwatch for free during this period—no special keys or sign-up codes needed.

Installation and play instructions

Before your watch can begin, you’ll first need to install Overwatch on Xbox One. Pre-download starts on Thursday, November 15 at 11:00 a.m. PST. Search for Overwatch on the Microsoft Store and select Overwatch: Origins Edition and then select “Free Trial.”
