Since 2008 he has focused on Office Communication Server, then Lync and  now Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams. Michel Verhagen has been a Windows Embedded Compact (CE) consultant since 2000, specializing in building complex Windows Embedded Compact (CE) platforms and device drivers for industrial appliances for customers around the world. He was born in the Netherlands but since January 2006 he has been living in New Zealand where he started the company GuruCE.  Michel is very active in the public Microsoft forums dealing with Windows Embedded related questions from the community. In 2001 he was awarded MVP in Windows Development.
