Unveiling Surface Go with LTE Advanced

We are thrilled to announce the availability of Surface Go with LTE Advanced.

With the perfect balance of performance, portability and connectivity [1], Surface Go with LTE Advanced is built to remove the dependencies of Wi-Fi and allow Firstline Workers uncompromised mobility to sell, service and provide care where and when they need. Surface Go with LTE Advanced provides the freedom Firstline Workers need to simply open their device and connect to the cloud whether in a remote location or bypassing the slow, unsecure coffee shop Wi-Fi.  This versatility is the latest addition to the 10-inch ultra-light, affordable yet performant Surface Go that ensures advanced security and management with Windows 10 Pro. Stay connected on the move

The evolution of the modern workplace has connectivity at its core. Being untethered with wireless connectivity offers flexibility, expanding our customers’ ability to work and team wherever they are. Whether that be a site engineer having continuity of network access throughout a construction site, a service technician ordering parts from their vehicle without having to tether to their personal phone, or a home health care provider updating a patient’s records without the need to infringe on that patient’s home Wi-Fi, Surface Go with LTE Advanced allows the flexibility needed to get the job done.  As cellular costs continue to drop, and coverage expands beyond 98 percent in most developed markets [2], we’re seeing that our customers are on the cusp of a disruption driven by connectivity and the cloud.

Surface Go with LTE Advanced lets workers stay connected on the move -- and stay connected without interruption -- especially in areas with unsecured public, slow, or no Wi-Fi. We chose a state-of-the-art Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ X16 LTE Modem, providing Cat 9 connectivity at throughput speeds of up to 450 Mbps and support for 22 frequency bands [3] spanning the majority of LTE carriers in markets where Surface Go with LTE Advanced is available.

Within Windows 10 when customers select Let Windows keep me connected their device will seamlessly switch from Wi-Fi to LTE based on the availability of each network. Staying online with Surface Go with LTE Advanced is just like roaming with a phone allowing Firstline Workers to automatically connect across networks almost anywhere in the world.



Sleek and compact design

Integrating LTE Advanced into Surface Go while staying true to our Surface design heritage required our engineering teams to go beyond traditional bolt-on design. We set out to deliver what we call “invisible performance” by integrating LTE Advanced directly into the design of Surface Go through placement of multiple antennas into the bezel of the device without any change to the form, fit or finish of the product.

At  just 1.17 lb. (532g) the Surface Go with LTE Advanced integrates a high-resolution (217 PPI) 10-inch  PixelSense™ Display designed to be touched, viewed, and written on, helping field and mobile workers whether they're using it as a compact tablet to take customer signatures or a laptop to type robust notes on location.

Surface Go with LTE Advanced comes with an Intel® Pentium® Gold Processor 4415Y with Intel HD 615 GPU along with 8GB of RAM and a 128GB or 256GB SSD. Pair with the Surface Go Signature Type Cover and Surface Pen providing precision ink and virtually no lag for the most productive experience.



Modern management and security for a modern device

The extended versality, high performance, and innovative design of Microsoft Surface, Surface Go included, is only half the story.

The Surface engineering team works alongside the engineering teams of Office 365, Windows 10, and Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS) to ensure Surface is built to take advantage of every deployment, management and security technology core to Microsoft 365.  Whether it’s having been the first device to offer Windows Autopilot deployment , remote Intune management of Surface devices in Kiosk mode or the ability of Windows Update for Business to automatically push security updates for the Windows 10 OS down to the UEFI (BIOS), you can experience how Surface and Microsoft 365 are better together.

Using Surface Go with LTE Advanced maximizes connectivity enabling IT and security benefits from “always-on manageability.” Using Intune, IT administrators can send updates, configure policy and manage devices immediately because the device is more consistently online. And, keeping devices online helps them receive ongoing updates through Windows Update for Business and Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection , thereby enhancing ongoing endpoint protection against all types of emerging threats.
