We are very excited to announce that live events are now generally available. Live events in Microsoft 365 enables anyone to create live and on-demand events that deliver compelling communications to employees. Events use video and interactive discussion across Stream, Teams, or Yammer. And the production can be as simple, or as sophisticated as needed, using webcams and screen sharing for informal presentations, or a studio-quality production for more formal events. Up to 10,000 attendees can participate in real-time from anywhere, on any device, or catch up later with powerful AI features that unlock the content of the event recording.

Getting started with live events in Stream
We've made a simple step-by-step guide to help you create your first live event! Just open Microsoft Stream and select Create > Live event to get started.
What can I use to connect my live broadcast?
From studio production setups with multiple cameras, microphones, and content sources, to desktop webcam and screen sharing applications, Microsoft Stream will help you deliver events of any type. To connect your cameras, microphones and content sources, Microsoft Stream has aneasy setup flow with some of our great partners such as Haivision KB and Makito encoders, Switcher Studio, Wirecast and Wirecast S! Looking for more configuration settings? We allow for manually configuring too from your supported application or device; just remember to follow the recommended settings.
Who can create live events?
By default, everyone in your organization with an assigned license plan (listed here) can create a live event - so get started today! If you are a Microsoft Stream administrator, you can make changes to settings and manage who can create events, see active live events, and see upcoming events in your organization. You have control over all live events in Microsoft Stream - so you can start, stop, modify and delete events. Check out the live events administration documentation to learn more.
Optimizing video delivery within your network
For organizations that want to reduce internet traffic and optimize network bandwidth for live events and popular videos, Microsoft Stream can be enabled to integrate with video delivery providers offering SDN/eCDN solutions. Our partners, Hive, Kollective, and Ramp, can help deliver a more scalable and efficient video distribution across your enterprise network. Replacing your video after the event
Coming soon, Microsoft Stream will allow you to replace your video after your live event has ended. This allows you to upload an updated version of the event video to remove front and back bumpers typically seen with a live event, or edit and add content that happened during the event.
