Hello, Xbox Wire readers!
I’m incredibly excited to let you know that our smash hit strategy game For The King is coming to Xbox One on May 10!
Chaos has befallen Fahrul and the kingdom is on the brink of disaster. Avenge the murder of your King and restore order. For the King blends tabletop rougelike game play with challenging adventure that spans fantastical realms. Play solo or join up to three friends in local and online multiplayer action.
The King is dead, murdered by an unknown assailant. Now the once peaceful kingdom of Fahrul is in chaos. For The King is a strategic RPG that blends tabletop and roguelike elements in a challenging adventure that spans the realms! Task yourself with the restoration of Fahrul in single player, or join up to three players in multiplayer, both online and local!
For The King features a total of six campaign modes, each offering a different experience to the last. Take to the high seas and roam the waters and island realms of Into The Deep or brave the cold and frigid ice wastelands in your search for treasure in Frost Adventure. These and four other campaigns are available, giving you plenty of variety and countless hours of content!
Exploration takes place on an expansive world map, allowing you to move your team around together as a group or individually to cover wider ground. As you uncover the fog of war, you’ll encounter wonderous relics, vicious enemies and deep catacombs. In order to succeed you must venture across the realm filling your pockets with loot a-plenty and prepping yourself for the brutal foes that await you.
Combat in For The King is both brutal and visceral, with a unique twist on Japanese RPG style battles. There’s a much larger emphasis on the characters (that’s For The King’s classes), their special abilities, consumables and the unique Focus mechanic. Enemies must all be analyzed and exploited if you are to make quick work of your foes. However, adventurers beware, should you fall in combat, your journey will be over, but not all is lost…
As you play For The King you will accumulate Lore from random battles, quests, story progression and more. Lore is a form of currency that can be used on the main menu to purchase characters, customization options, locations, encounters, and Items to further augment and vary your gameplay as you fight to become the savior of Fahrul once more! Lore carries over between playthroughs meaning even in the most disastrous of attempts you still retain progression.
I hope you’re greatly looking forward to delving into the hardcore world of Fahrul on May 10, and remember adventurer, you do this not for riches or fame but for your village, for your realm, For The King!
Until next time!
