Experiencing issue for Log Search Alerts and Azure UX (Log Search) in Log Analytics

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 05/20, 16:05 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 05/20, 14:15 UTC and that during the 1 hour and 50 minutes that it took to resolve the issue 65% of customers in USGov Virginia region experienced log analytics data access issues including issues with log search alerts and log search queries in Azure portal.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to one of the dependency services.

We understand that customers rely on Log Analytics as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We are aware of issues within Log Analytics and are actively investigating. Customers will not be receiving any log alerts for log search in Log Analytics for USGov Virginia region. Also Log Search page for Azure UX will be down when user inputs query.
