Microsoft Tech Community Update Sept 25th, 2019

This post has been republished via RSS; it originally appeared at: New blog articles in Microsoft Tech Community.

We have just released an update for the Microsoft Tech Community. While many of the changes in this update are behind the scenes and related to preparations for Microsoft Ignite and Microsoft Ignite The Tour, there are two changes that we want to explain further.

Community Member Count

Starting from today, the member count for the Microsoft Tech Community will show up as being a little lower than we have recently been displaying on our homepage. This is because in the interests in giving the community an accurate view of our community, we have changed how the total membership is counted by removing any accounts that have been closed as a result of a GDPR request, and any user who has not fully completed registration, from our membership count.

We know that some of you follow our membership count very closely and we feel the new metric gives a more accurate picture of how many registered members we have today.

New Languages

Further to our announcement on April 8th, 2019, we have now added support for an extra two languages to our AI language Translation Beta. Supported Languages are:

  • English
  • German
  • Spanish
  • French
  • Chinese (Simplified)
  • Japanese
  • Korean ** New **
  • Brazilian Portuguese ** New **

We are still working on full translation, but for now the conversations in the community can be translated into these languages using the Language selection drop down in the top right, you must be logged in to see it.

Let us know if you see any problems and if you have any feature requests please do submit them to our Community Ideas board.
