Experiencing Alerting failure issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types in USGov – 10/18 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 10/18, 02:22 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 10/18, 01:37 UTC and that during the 45 minutes that it took to resolve the issue some of the customers in USGov might have experienced alerting failures.

  • Root Cause: The failure was due to an issue in one of our backend services.

  • Incident Timeline: 45 minutes - 10/18, 01:37 UTC through 10/18, 02:22 UTC

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.
