We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 01/20, 12:17 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 01/20, 08:30 UTC and that during the 3 hours 47 minutes that it took to resolve the issue some of customers in West US 2 region might have experienced data access and data latency issue for Log analytics and alerting failures and alerting delays for Log Search Alerts.

We continue to investigate issues within Azure log analytics and Log Search Alerts. Root cause is not fully understood at this time. Some customers continue to experience data access issue in the Azure portal and failures when queried through API for Log Analytics and Alerting failure for Log Search alerts. We are working to establish the start time for the issue, initial findings indicate that the problem began at 01/20 ~08:30 UTC. We currently have no estimate for resolution.
