Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure portal for Log Analytics – 02/05 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 02/05, 13:30 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 02/05, 08:20 UTC and that during the 5 hours 10 minutes that it took to resolve the issue some customers in West Europe region experienced Data Access from Azure portal , query failures in Log Analytics and delayed or missed alerts in Log search alerts.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to issue with one of our backend service.
  • Incident Timeline: 5 Hours & 10 minutes - 02/05, 08:20 UTC through 02/05, 13:30 UTC
We understand that customers rely on Azure Log Analytics as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We continue to investigate issues within Log Analytics. Root cause is not fully understood at this time. Some customers in West Europe region continue to experience Data Access from Azure portal , query failures in Log Analytics and delayed or missed alerts in Log search alerts. We are working to establish the start time for the issue, initial findings indicate that the problem began at 02/05 ~08:20 UTC. We currently have no estimate for resolution.
