It’s Reconnect time again, and today we have the privilege of touching base with Marc Soester, an Australian Microsoft Project MVP from 2007 to 2018.
Marc is now working as Executive Director for Sensei Project Solutions. In this capacity, he’s at work implementing Project Portfolio Management Solutions based on Microsoft Office 365. Continuing to leverage the experience and expertise from his MVP days, Marc recently worked on a project implementing an Agile project methodology from a traditional Waterfall Project. As part of the overall solution, his team used many of the Office 365 productivity tools to enhance Microsoft Project Online.
Though Marc only recently became a Reconnect MVP, he considers himself the Australian Project Ambassador for Microsoft PPM. Marc tells us that as an MVP he benefited greatly from connecting with the most talented Microsoft and SME people around, gaining insights from sharing experiences that were beneficial to customers. Now, as part of the Reconnect community, he’s thrilled to be able to work and exchange with Smart Subject Matter experts. And, in the meantime, he’s also managing the Office 365 - Project Online community in Australia; plus, he provides bi-monthly thought leadership throughout Australia.
Reminiscing on his time as an MVP, Marc notes just how much he has enjoyed presenting for 8 years going at the Microsoft Ignite (formerly TechEd) conferences in the US and Australia. He loves the interest and buzz generated by these events. To all those current MVPs out there, Marc would love to remind them “to be passionate, to share great Microsoft capabilities to make users life more productive and fun – and to become the ambassador of your field of expertise.”
