Experiencing issues in Azure Monitoring Services – 03/06 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 06/03, 09:32 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 05/03, 13:56 UTC and that during the 20 hours & 24 minutes that it took to resolve the issue some of customers may have experienced issues creating and accessing Application Insight components and Log Analytics Workspaces in China cloud. Customers may also have experinced issues creating metric alerts and delayed or missed or misfired log search alerts in all regions in the China cloud.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to an issue with one of the back end service.

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We continue to investigate issues within Azure Monitoring Services. Root cause is not fully understood at this time. Some customers continue to experience issues creating and accessing Application Insights components and Log Analytics Workspaces, issues creating metric alerts, delayed or missed or misfired log search alerts in all regions in the China cloud. We currently have no estimate for resolution.

We are aware of issues within Azure Monitoring Services. Customers may experience issues creating and accessing Application Insights components and Log Analytics Workspaces, issues creating metric alerts, delayed or missed or misfired log search alerts in all regions in the China cloud. Initial investigation points to an Azure outage due to cert authentication issues impacting multiple services.
