MVP Reconnect is back to spotlight Ken Lin: The Hong Kong native Application Development MVP from 2003-2017 and Business Applications MVP from 2015-2017. Ken is a long-time member of the Microsoft MVP family with further accreditation from Microsoft Hong Kong and Microsoft Taiwan as a Microsoft Community Star.

Ken’s more than decade-long history in the MVP program reads like a laundry list of accomplishments. Ken co-founded the Hong Kong .NET User Group and has spoken at events including MSDN Seminar, Microsoft TechEd, Microsoft TechDays, Microsoft TechSummit, and Microsoft ImagineCup.

More recently, Ken has been taking charge of a SaaS solution powered by Azure at a global legal firm. In this project, Microsoft Graph API was applied with Azure AD to build Microsoft Office Add-ins into the solution.

Ken looks back fondly at his time in the MVP program and the opportunities it afforded him. “Being part of the program is one of the most wonderful experiences in my life,” he says. “It allowed me to connect with many experts from all over the world - especially when I got the chance to attend MVP Global Summits at Microsoft headquarters in Redmond.”

Today, Ken keenly takes part in the Reconnect program as one of the MVP Reconnect Regional Representatives in Greater China. Ken attends numerous technical calls and assists other Reconnect members as and when needed: “It is important because once an MVP, always part of the MVP community!” Ken says.

Ken encourages new MVPs to enjoy and participate in their global network. “One event that you must not miss is the MVP Global Summit. You should connect with other experts and the product team to learn and contribute as much as possible,” Ken says.

Looking forward, Ken is organizing the Global Azure Bootcamp 2020 with the other local MVPs.
