We want to provide an update regarding support for Service Fabric version 6.5.

We at Microsoft and the Service Fabric team understand that our customers are facing challenges due to COVID-19 which may make it harder to support and maintain their business. We know that customers have critical workloads hosted on Service Fabric. Although it is a small gesture, want to offer help by extending support for Service Fabric 6.5 release versions.

All of 6.5 based releases was originally scheduled to go out of support on May 1st 2020.  We are extending this by 3 months. The new end of support date for all 6.5 based releases is August 1st,2020. We will take measures to ensure support expiration warnings for 6.5 clusters are removed. Please disregard any newsletters regarding support expiration for Service Fabric 6.5, there will be no impact to clusters.

While we have decided to continue maintaining support for 6.5 to help customers focus on handling high priority issues raised due to situation across the globe, we recommend customers upgrade to the latest version of 7.0  if they have the capability to validate it in their pre-production environments. As always, if you have trouble upgrading please let us know via Microsoft Support and we will help get you upgraded. We will continue to monitor the situation and may make further extensions or modifications to the support schedule if the situation warrants.

Please reach out to us if you have any concerns using our support channels.

Stay safe and Healthy!
