[Customer story] University of Western Australia – Tackling COVID-19 through online learning

This post has been republished via RSS; it originally appeared at: New blog articles in Microsoft Tech Community.

Hi everyone,

We have another customer story, this time from Australia!

University of Western Australia jumped into action early at the start of the COVID-19 crisis to support their international students who were unable to get to Australia due to travel restrictions.

In 2 weeks, they deployed upcoming classes that included affected students in Azure Lab Services, so that students can have the necessary learning environments to continue with their education remotely. Now, they've scaled the solution to support the students in Australia as well.

"[University of Western Australia] had previously trialed Azure Labs in Architecture and the Masters of Cybersecurity courses putting 77 labs online; that has now been extended to more than 2,000 lab sessions across the university.... This combined effort helped to accelerate the deployment of the solution which is now ensuring UWA learning continuity with no compromise of the student experience regardless of whether a student is at home in Australia, or overseas."
