Experiencing Latency and Data Gaps issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types – 04/23 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 4/23, 17:13 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 4/23, 12:28 UTC and that during the 4 hours 45 min that it took to resolve the issue some customers in North Europe experienced data latency, data gap and incorrect alert activation.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to unhealthy backend node.

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We continue to investigate issues within Application Insights. Root cause is not fully understood at this time. Some customers in North Europe region continue to experience data latency, data gaps and incorrect alert activation issue. We are working to establish the start time for the issue, initial findings indicate that the problem began at 04/23 12:28 UTC.
