Azure Sphere 20.10 is now available for compatibility testing

This post has been republished via RSS; it originally appeared at: New blog articles in Microsoft Tech Community.

The Azure Sphere 20.10 update is now available for evaluation via the Retail Eval feed. The 20.10 retail evaluation period provides 3 weeks for backwards compatibility testing. During this time, please verify that your applications and devices operate properly with this release before it's deployed broadly via the Retail feed. The Retail feed will continue to deliver OS version 20.09 until we publish the 20.10 update.

For this release, the Retail Evaluation period will be somewhat different from previous evaluation periods:

  • The Retail Evaluation period will last three weeks instead of the usual two weeks.
  • A special evaluation version of the SDK is provided for use during this period. This SDK will be replaced by the final version of the 20.10 SDK when OS is released to the retail feed.
  • IMPORTANT: we ask you to validate your current application binaries (built with the 20.07 or earlier SDK) and to rebuild your applications with the evaluation SDK and validate those binaries as well. If you encounter problems, please notify Microsoft as soon as possible.
  • For more details about this retail evaluation release, as well as instructions for downloading and installing the evaluation SDK, please see the online documentation at 20.10 retail evaluation. Please note that the evaluation SDK is not available from the usual download location, and for the Linux version of the SDK the installation procedure may be different from usual.
