E3 Offers High Performance and Innovation in Gaming Hardware

All throughout the week at E3, it was apparent that great hardware has a key place in the PC gaming ecosystem, and it was thrilling to witness the amazing innovation.  At Microsoft, we believe our OEM partners build some of the most amazing high performance, innovative, and customizable gaming machines.  Through our strong partnerships, OEMs showed great support for us at E3 that we have been able to demonstrate this week at our booth and at the Showcase.  We hope you have had the opportunity to join us in our PC Lounge and check out some brand new rigs, as well as a few of our amazing Back to School Gaming collection.

The gaming devices on display are powered by Windows 10—the best version of Windows for gaming and are built specifically for the needs of gamers.  These devices include native live game streaming through the Game bar with Mixer, Game Mode, DirectX 12, connecting with your gaming community through the Xbox app, and more.

Here is a taste of what was on display in our booth.

EVGA SC15

The EVGA SC15 laptop styles a sleek aluminum unibody design, measuring no more than .89 inch at the thickest point.  The display delivers a crystal clear, tear and jitter free gaming experience.  It features a high quality hinge, which allows for single handed opening from either corner without the fear of screen flexing causing damage.

Lenovo Legion Y720

Lenovo has two new gaming machines to get excited about.  The Lenovo Legion Y720 Cube is a compact desktop that comes prepared with built-in air vents and cooling mechanisms – ready to take on the most intensive games with up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition graphics so you can enjoy up to 60 frames per second.  The Lenovo Legion Y720 Laptop can tackle gaming to mobile graphic work such as video/3D rendering or graphic design.  It features quick boot up times, fast in-game loading, accident-proof storage, and it’s designed to be silent.

Origin EON17-X

The EON17-X features 7th Generation Intel Core i7 desktop processors and the fastest overclocked desktop-class GPUs in the industry.  It includes the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 and unique features such as a stunning 17.3″ display with full 4K High-Definition, G-SYNC technology, VR Ready graphics cards, and DDR4 2666MHz high speed memory.

Razer Blade Pro

The New Razer Blade Pro is the world’s first THX Certified Mobile Device with studio grade visuals and high fidelity audio output that delivers a new standard for laptops.  It features stunningly smooth visuals with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics, 4K resolution G-SYNC capable touch display, a tactile ultra-low-profile mechanical keyboard powered by Razer Chroma, and durable CNC aluminum unibody chassis measuring at a mere 0.88” thin.

Alienware 17

It offers premium materials such as anodized aluminum, magnesium alloy, steel-reinforcements, and copper thermal management to ensure a level of stiffness, rigidity, thinness, and high-quality feel all without sacrificing gaming performance. MSI GT83VT Titan Pro SLI

This device features 18.4″ Full HD Wide View IPS-Level Non Reflection monitor.

It comes with an accurate, responsive and programmable gaming keyboard by SteelSeries and powerful personalization and customization with the Dragon Center application.

Acer Predator 21 X

The Acer Predator 21 X Gaming Laptop is the first notebook to feature a curved IPS display with NVIDIA G-SYNC and 120Hz refresh rate keeps gaming fluid and seamless by eliminating screen tearing. Top tier performance is powered by a 7th Gen Intel Core i7-7820HK processor and dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPUs in SLI. The five-fan cooling system maximizes heat dissipation and ensures extreme overclocking performance. Intel announced that the 4- to 10-core Intel Core X-series processors will be available for pre-order beginning on June 19 and will start shipping to consumers the following week. Availability for the rest of the X-series family will soon follow, with the 12-core Intel Core i9-7920X X-series processor expected to start shipping in August, and the Intel Core i9-7940X X-series processor, Intel Core i9-7960X X-series processor and 18-core Intel Core i9-7980X Extreme Edition processor, expected to start shipping in October.

The Intel Core X-series line up offers a wide range of options and price points, and opens the door for a whole new level of experiences and capability for gamers and content creators of all levels and interests. At the top of the stack is the new Intel Core i9 Extreme Edition processor, the first consumer desktop CPU with 18 cores and 36 threads of power to handle all the megatasking demands of gaming, VR, content creation and more.

HP OMEN

HP’s new OMEN PCs, displays and accessories are packed with features designed to target the needs of gamers around the world.   The OMEN X Compact Desktop has a versatile form factor, creating the ability to dock and undock quickly for gaming in any room or attach the desktop to the new backpack accessory for an untethered VR experience.   OMEN 15 and OMEN 17 laptops offer the latest high-performance graphics from NVIDIA and AMD, high-resolution displays with optional GSync and FreeSync technology for fast refresh rates and a single-access service panel.

Dell Inspiron Gaming Desktop

Dell recently introduced the first gaming desktop in its growing Inspiron Gaming line at Computex 2017 and it launched in the US timed to E3 (June 13).  The new Inspiron Gaming Desktop is built for gamers seeking a competitive advantage at an affordable price and incorporates the latest AMD multicore Ryzen processors featuring SenseMI, thermally-optimized airflow routing, Polar Blue LED Illumination, easy component access and power supply options up to 850 watts for supporting dual discrete ready for VR graphics from AMD and NVIDIA.

Alienware Area-51

Alienware is at E3 with a number of new gaming innovations.  Alienware’s Area-51 machines are updated with new multi-core processors in two options – one powered by Intel’s X-Series and the other by AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper – which is an OEM exclusive.  The Alienware 15 will offer NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 with Max-Q technology, balancing gaming performance with portability.  To complement these high performance gaming machines, Alienware also debuted high-performance monitors, keyboards & mice with its signature premium design and features gamers demand.

Origin EVO15-S

The all-new EVO15-S thin and light laptop, available with the Windows 10 Creators Update.  Measuring only .73 inches thick and weighing only 4.3 pounds, the all-new EVO15-S redefines the thin and light gaming notebook by supporting NVIDIA’s latest GeForce GTX 1070 desktop-class graphics; providing gamers with an unprecedented level of performance and power efficiency for games, 4K gaming and VR experiences. Razer upgraded its Blade Stealth ultra-thin laptop.  Measuring 0.52 inches thin, weighing 2.93 pounds and with up to nine hours of battery life, Razer’s latest chassis is CNC-milled out of aircraft grade aluminum, and it is now available in a black or gunmetal gray finish. The new version features a 13.3” 3200 X 1080 IGZO touch display with a slimmer bezel, precision touchpad for increased accuracy, and is available in black or the new gunmetal color variation with the subtle Razer tone-on-tone logo. For those gamers who want a mobile laptop during the day and a desktop-class gaming system after hours, the Blade Stealth easily connects with the optional Razer Core to deliver external desktop graphics power and expanded connectivity options via a single Thunderbolt™ 3 cable.
