Fairy Tale ARPG Ghost of a Tale Enters Xbox Game Preview

This post has been republished via RSS; it originally appeared at: Xbox Wire.

A couple of years ago I decided to start working on Ghost of a Tale full-time. I had never even worked on a game before and had to learn everything from the ground up — how to use a real-time engine, how to code, etc.

Thankfully, I met fantastic people over time who are now helping me to make the game what it is: an action RPG about rekindling the sense of passion and wonder we all felt as kids when discovering video games. The emphasis of Ghost of a Tale is on stealth and exploration. The goal is to make you feel as if you stepped into a coherent world that could be right out of a movie or a fairy tale.

In the game you play as Tilo, a mouse and minstrel caught up in a perilous adventure. The story takes place in a medieval world populated only by animals, and puts an emphasis on immersion and exploration. It features disguises, conversations with allies and enemies, and quests.

It’s a non-violent game in that you’re not required to kill any other characters to progress. That’s not to say the game is devoid of danger though. Indeed, you’ll be able to explore the secrets of Dwindling Heights Keep and navigate its traps. Tilo is not much of a fighter though, so stealth and nimbleness are your allies when confronted with enemies twice your size.

Ghost of a Tale is a work-in-progress, of course, and with your feedback and help we will make sure it is a thoroughly enjoyable experience from end-to-end. For any news regarding the game, please visit the official site, follow us on Twitter: and “Like” us on Facebook.
