Tips and tricks for what to bring to Ignite

Are you ready for Microsoft Ignite? We’re less than one week out and have a few tips and tricks to think about as you prep and pack for Ignite. For starters, set your goals—what do you want to get out of the event? Next, what can you do now to maximize your time at the event? Follow people and podcasts, and set your schedule. Check out our Community Reporters’ schedules for ideas! These steps will help you zero in on what interests you most and keep you up-to-date on the talk of the event. Also, don’t forget to check in with your colleagues at the office to hear what training areas pique their interest, so you can share relevant ideas upon your return.

Here are 3 other things to consider:

  1. Dress for comfort – you’ll be walking a lot, so bring shoes you’ve already worn and love. Layers are good too, because sessions and expo halls can be overly air-conditioned.

  2. Power up – Your preferred tech toys take juice. Bring portable USB batteries and/or a small power strip for on-the-go charging to keep connected from morning to evening.

  3. Pack light – MVP Community Reporter Alistair Pugin has tips to save space and keep healthy with all the walking, talking, shaking hands, and swag-gathering you’ll do.
