The 2019 Microsoft Ignite conference that was held on November 4th-8th this year was filled with exciting Teams product announcements! We want to highlight a few features that have been widely requested by our healthcare customers:
1. Virtual Consults
Now in private preview, Healthcare providers can simply schedule and conduct virtual consultations with patients through Teams. Patients can access the consult directly through the Teams mobile app or the web browser. This saves time and hassle for the patient and the provider, allowing them to focus on effective and quality care.
2. Patient Coordination
Available in public preview soon, complex care teams can now centralize actionable patient data and access it quickly to collaborate in the context they need. Whether it be rounding, team meetings or discharge huddles, Patient Coordination in Teams supports enterprise-grade security and enables HIPAA compliance.
3. Private Channels
Teams users now have the ability to create channels that can only be accessed by select members of the team. You can choose to lock down the channel by selecting "Private" and only the members that you add can see the channel. The lock icon, as shown below, indicates a private channel.
4. Multiwindow
Early 2020, you will be able to pop out chats, meetings, calls and documents into separate windows to help streamline your daily workflow.
5. Live Captions
Rolling out as Preview in US English later this year with more languages to come in the future, live captions allow your Teams Meetings to be more inclusive. It gives participants with different hearing abilities or language proficiencies another way to follow along with the conversation.
...And much much more!
