Overview
SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) Access, DB2, MySQL, Oracle, and SAP ASE (formerly SAP Sybase ASE) allows users to convert a database schema to a Microsoft SQL Server schema, upload the schema, and then migrate data to the target SQL Server (see below for supported versions).
What's new?
The latest release of SSMA enhances each “flavor” of the tool with support for Azure Active Directory authentication and basic support for JSON features in SQL server, together with a targeted set of fixes designed to improve usability and performance.
Important: SSMA v8.5 has been updated so that it requires .NET Framework version 4.7.2. to run properly. If you don’t already have this version installed, you can download and install the runtime file from here.
In addition, this release includes the following:
- SSMA for Access now supports conversion of multiple standard functions (ISNULL, IIF, etc.).
- SSMA for DB2 has been enhanced with:
- Support for adding conversion for GET DIAGNOSTICS statement with ROW_NUMBER.
- A fix for a bug related to spaces at the beginning of the object name not being respected.
- SSMA for Sybase now allows you to hide system tables and views (exclude them from conversion).
- SSMA for Oracle has been enhanced with support for:
- Limiting the number of selected objects for discovery to 990 [Oracle’s “WHERE .. IN (..)” clause limit is 1000 items].
- Data migration from RAW to UNIQUEIDENTIFIER.
- Parsing of PARALLEL_ENABLE clause.
SSMA for Oracle also now provides improved performance of converted packaged constants and an update for Oracle Data Provider for .NET to version 19.5.0.
