Video 6 of the Azure VMware Solution Zero to Hero Series! FINAL VIDEO!

This post has been republished via RSS; it originally appeared at: Microsoft Tech Community - Latest Blogs - .

The last video of the Azure VMware Solution (AVS) zero to hero video series releases today! In this video, Shabaz Darr (@ShabazDarr) and I cover third party integrations for Azure VMware Solution, finally taking you to hero in the sixth video of the series!

We start by covering some of the popular integrations with AVS. Customers have a lot of options to choose from. The integrations we covered are Azure NetApp files for a file share, Azure blob storage usage, iSCSI disk pools, Azure Traffic Manager, Azure Application Gateway, support for hub and spoke, Microsoft Azure Backup Server (MABS), Azure Monitor, and Azure Security Center. These scenarios and services definitely don’t cover everything, as once your environment lives closer to the ARM APIs, basically anything is possible!

Next, we discussed backup options. At the present time, the third-party backup vendor list is vast and will continue to evolve. This space is the most interesting, as most enterprise backup solutions are already supported. Hopefully this puts customers at ease, as their engineers don’t have to “reinvent the wheel” (so to speak). Customers and their infrastructure teams can keep using the same tools to protect their workloads in AVS.

I rounded out the video with a demo of Veeam Backup and Replication with AVS. A long-time fan, I love Veeam (as does Shabaz). The setup was straightforward and the environment is easy to administer. I showcase that it’s the same experience inside an Azure vNet backing up VMs within AVS as it is on-premises.

At the end of this series, hopefully you have a better understanding of what AVS is, the value proposition for vSphere heavy enterprises to use AVS and help speed up digital transformation, how to both plan and deploy, what types of integrations Microsoft’s customer base is currently deploying, and that the third-party backup ecosystem offers like for like related to backup solutions on-premises. Please feel free to like, share, subscribe to Shabaz’s I Am IT Geek YouTube channel for more content as time unfolds and he finds a different product to cover!

And to Shabaz – great topic and idea…thank you for the opportunity to collaborate!

Until next time, folks!
