Developer preview of AMP for email in Outlook.com – no longer supported

This post has been republished via RSS; it originally appeared at: Outlook Blog articles.

In March, we announced that we would have a preview to support AMP for email in Outlook.com by summer. Today, we are happy to announce that we have entered the developer preview phase. Support for the format has been rolled out but it is turned off by default. Any email sender interested in trying their AMP emails in Outlook.com can turn it on for their mailbox for testing purposes.

Additionally, senders can register now to send AMP emails to their customers in the near future.

Update (September 9th, 2020): Today we are announcing that, based on the results and feedback we received, the developer preview of AMP for Email will end on October 1st.

After that date, AMP for Email will be turned off in Outlook.com. Emails that used AMP will instead render using regular HTML; there is nothing extra email senders need to do for this fallback to work automatically. If email senders want to send dynamic emails to Outlook users, we encourage you to leverage Actionable Messages instead.
