Heya folks, Ned here again. We just released an update to the Storage Migration Service extension for Windows Admin Center. It will automatically appear in your WAC feeds as of now.
Tool: Storage Migration Service
Version 1.57.0
Notes:
- Transfer mapping selection of volumes and shares now allows re-selecting all shares if you previously un-selected many or all shares.
-
Fixes a bug in cut over screen where columns stopped aligning and AFS Setup link didn't always appear at completion.
-
Fixes a regression where a very large number of shares blocked entering the transfer mapping page, even though transfers worked fine with PowerShell.
-
Note: SMS supports up to 50,000 shares from a single source server.
-
- Fixes an issue where cut over mapping pages blocked if a server had no network adapters or there wasn't a 1-1 mapping of interfaces possible
We are making progress on improving re-transfer performance. In the meantime I wrote up this FAQ article on how you can optimize SMS transfer and re-transfer speeds, please give it a read.
Only 6 months to go before Windows Server 2008 support ends, happy migrating!
