For this session, we are thrilled to have OSF Healthcare, discuss 3 virtual care use cases they have embraced over the past year to improve the lives of their Staff and patients.

  • Virtual Discharge where they focused on virtual discharge education for patients provided an opportunity for patients to focus on the next steps needed in their care. With this focused time on discharge instructions by the virtual nurse, it helps to reduce frontline nursing workload and increase our throughput.
  • Virtual Patient to Family a highly impactful virtual connection for patients who are not able to have visitors either because of restrictions or because of their condition, this was a way for patients and family members to feel more connected to each other during their health journey.
  • Virtual Clinician to Family was another special opportunity OSF had to provide an enhanced patient experience for the people in their care. When a patient was unable to make healthcare decisions and the clinical team needed to engage with next of kin or guardians, this service enabled extended people to be engaged in their loved one’s care from a distance.

OSF will discuss how these challenges were impacting their organization, review some of the steps they took to evaluate a solution and the benefits they are seeing now that a solution has been implemented.
