Known Issue: Intune MAM applications unresponsive on Samsung SM-G990E devices

This post has been republished via RSS; it originally appeared at: Intune Customer Success articles.

We recently identified a file encryption issue for apps protected by mobile application management (MAM) on Samsung SM-G990E devices that are running the latest operating system (OS) update, specifically G990EXXU7EWH7 and G990EXXS7EWI3. When users attempt to open MAM protected apps on these devices, they may notice the app isn’t responding.

We’re working to address this issue in the October (2310) release of the Intune Company Portal for Android, which will be 5.0.6017.0 or later. Users on these devices should update to the latest Company Portal release once available to resolve this issue. To identify which user's devices’ may be affected, navigate to the Microsoft Intune admin center > Apps > Monitor > App protection status and search by the device model. If you’d like to require this update, you can use the Intune app protection policy (APP, also known as MAM) Min Company Portal version setting and specify the 2310 Intune Company Portal for Android version when it’s available.

In the meantime, as a workaround, users can uninstall and re-install the Intune Company Portal. However, by uninstalling the Intune Company Portal users will need to sign-in to MAM protected apps again to regain access to their organization's resources.

We’ll update this post once the 2310 Intune Company Portal version is available or as new information becomes available. If you have questions or comments for the Intune team, reply to this post or reach out to @IntuneSuppTeam on Twitter.
