Customer review: Cytric Easy conveniently delivered travel industry features via Microsoft tools

Amadeus IT Group S.A.'s Cytric Easy, an app published to Microsoft AppSource, enables people to plan, book, and manage business trips from within Microsoft Teams. Travelers can compare flights, rent a car, and share trip details with colleagues. A personal dashboard in Teams displays all trip information.


Microsoft AppSource interviewed Tomeu Fiol, IT Director for Meliá Hotels International, to learn what he had to say about the product.

 

What do you like best about Cytric Easy?

Business travel matters to us, yet there are hassles and logistics to endure on each trip, like juggling flight details, accommodations, or coordinating travel details with colleagues. We were looking for a way to eliminate cumbersome processes and incorporate travel into our existing collaborative tools, such as Microsoft Teams.


We have found that the role of digital collaboration has grown as employees harness a mix of both digital and physical meetings to achieve their objectives. Physical and digital workplaces must become seamless and non-intrusive, and so we knew we needed to accommodate what our business-traveling employees want, while providing it in a way that was more efficient: the best of both worlds.


When we learned about the possibility to start using the revolutionary collaborative online booking tool for Microsoft Teams, we immediately agreed to implement Cytric Easy for our global workforce. Amadeus Cytric Easy allows our employees to search, book, and pay for business travel within the Microsoft 365 productivity tools they use every day, like Microsoft Teams. With this ability, employees can focus on the objectives of a trip, rather than being bogged down planning complex travel logistics.


Furthermore, we were seeking a partner who could help us to not only save cost and carbon dioxide emissions, but also to increase our employees’ satisfaction, collaboration, and engagement, especially after the pandemic.

 

How has the product helped your organization?

First, we were able to roll out organization-wide in record time. The training and adoption was nearly seamless. From the employee perspective, Cytric Easy has been nothing short of revolutionary. Employees don't have to leave Microsoft Teams to book their trips. Flight search results show recommended options based on convenience, price, users’ preferences — for example, stop-over airports to avoid — corporate policy, and the greenest options. Collaboration is done easily by sharing travel itineraries with their colleagues via Microsoft Teams, and booking the same trip with just a few clicks. It also provides them with the opportunity to share transfers when arriving at the same airports or railway station as other colleagues. Time and costs are saved, while convenience and collaboration increase from the second an employee needs to plan a business trip.

 

At a corporate level, we have seen cost reduction through simplified processes and minimizing manual steps to complete a business trip, while contributing to a more sustainable future. Another benefit is the integration with our accounting and payroll systems. This allows employees to receive reminders to submit their expenses, claim their expenses back without leaving Microsoft Teams, and helps the company keep more accurate track of travel expenses. We have transformed the experience of over 12,000 business travelers with Cytric Easy for Microsoft Teams.

 

How are customer service and support?

For us, we are part of Cytric Easy user feedback forums to test new functionalities and improve the solution. It is an experience that makes us feel part of Cytric Easy, so service and support is intrinsic in our relationship. From the day-to-day users, we have nothing but good things to say about Cytric’s responsiveness and support when needed.

 

Any recommendations to other users considering this product?

If your organization is using Microsoft Teams, this is a no-brainer. Employees spend too much time changing from one app to another. Why not bring booking, travel, and claiming your expenses to their collaborative space? Once employees discover the new way of booking, travel, and collaborating with their colleagues, there is no going back!
