As Xbox celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, it comes to the Game Developers Conference with more details about its next generation console, Project Helix, which is designed to play console and PC games. “As games increasingly span devices, we’re breaking down the barriers between console and PC games for more seamless cross-device play, and we’re making the Xbox experience consistent across screens,” writes Jason Ronald, vice president of Next Generation at Xbox. “We’re taking everything we’ve learned about building a leading gaming OS and bringing it directly into Windows for both players and developers.” Ronald also shared that the Xbox mode that debuted on ROG Xbox Ally handhelds will begin rolling out to Windows 11 in April, starting with select markets. With Xbox mode, players can switch “between productivity and play, with a familiar full screen and controller optimized Xbox experience while embracing the openness of Windows.” Get more details on Xbox Wire.
