Released: Microsoft.Data.SqlClient 1.1 Preview 2

This post has been republished via RSS; it originally appeared at: New blog articles in Microsoft Tech Community.

We have been busy working on bringing Always Encrypted with secure enclaves support into Microsoft.Data.SqlClient along with other fixes and house cleaning tasks since our last preview release.

To try out the new package, add a NuGet reference to Microsoft.Data.SqlClient in your application.

Always Encrypted with secure enclaves is introduced in Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and provides additional functionality to the Always Encrypted feature.

For the full list of changes in Microsoft.Data.SqlClient 1.1 Preview 2, please see the Release Notes.

We have also recently released a preview package of AzureKeyVaultProvider Preview Release v1.0.0-preview1.19295.2. compatible with Microsoft.Data.SqlClient. This key store provider provides a cross-platform option for clients who want to use Always Encrypted. To add it to your application, you can add a reference to the Microsoft.Data.SqlClient.AlwaysEncrypted.AzureKeyVaultProvider NuGet package.

Again, to try out the new Microsoft.Data.SqlClient package, add a NuGet reference to Microsoft.Data.SqlClient in your application. We appreciate the time and effort you spend checking out our previews. It makes the final product that much better. If you encounter any issues or have any feedback, head over to the SqlClient GitHub repository and submit an issue.
