Hello Xbox Wire readers! Wales Interactive are back with another live-action blockbuster making its way onto Xbox One. Introducing Late Shift, a cinematic FMV crime thriller with branching storylines and multiple endings which unfold based on your decisions.
Written by Michael R. Johnson, author of the 2009 film, Sherlock Holmes, Late Shift is a blend of movie, game and interactive storytelling. Choice-driven narrative fans, look no further! Right from the start through to the very end, your choices will have consequences that can change your entire storyline and lead you to one of seven endings. We’re calling this a choose-your-own-adventure style of gameplay.
After being forced into the robbery of a lucrative auction house, student Matt is left proving his innocence in the brutal London heist. The consequences of his actions take him on a vicious and violent journey across the capital, and you have the power to weave the twisted web.
You won’t have long to make your decisions as the film seamlessly continues to roll with no pauses, no looping footage and no jarring scene cuts. With over 180 decision points to determine the outcome, don’t expect to always reach the Hollywood hero ending in this one!
Do you steal the car or do you run away? Do you fight or do you keep your cool? Your decisions, however big or small they may seem, could be the turning point in any one of your playthroughs, sending you through different branches of the story. Entire chapters can even be found or skipped because a series of choices you made previously in the game.
Developed by our good friends at CtrlMovie and shot in full HD across London, Late Shift lands on Xbox One this April.
Thank you all for reading and we’d love to hear what you think of Late Shift. Be sure to watch the trailer above and don’t forget to follow us on Twitter and Facebook to keep up to date with the Late Shift launch!
