After months of updates, tweaks, and a free expansion that adds the peaks of Alaska’s Denali to its snowy open world, shredding down the pristine slopes of Steep is better than ever — and Xbox Live Gold members are about to get a chance to dive in for free, for a limited time.
From 10:00 a.m. PST on Friday, March 10 to 11:39 p.m. PST on Sunday, March 12, Steep’s free weekend gives you the opportunity to explore and compete using skis, snowboards, wingsuits, and paragliders, all without restrictions — you’ll be able to try out everything Steep has to offer.
As you tackle high-speed challenges and conquer dangerous terrain, you’ll build your athlete’s reputation and earn access to greater heights and challenges. You’ll also be able to tackle the slopes alongside others, either by joining up with friends, or teaming with the players you’ll randomly meet while roaming the mountains. And with the recent Alaska update, there’s much more to discover, including 21 new challenges, two new invitationals, and a new mountain story.
Best of all, Steep’s standard and gold editions will be on sale for 40% off from March 7-13. If you want to keep playing after the free weekend, this would be a great time to pick up the game at an unbelievable price. And if you decide to buy it later, all your Achievements and saved progress will be waiting for you when you decide to return to the slopes.
There’s a huge world of breakneck competition and serene discovery to delve into, like the two new huge worlds thanks to the free Alaska update, so get ready to strap in and show everyone what you can do in Steep this weekend!
