Created by Hassan and Aziz, two medical students and founders of the Microsoft Student Tech Club, ScheduleEase won second prize at the Hack Together event. In just two weeks, the team developed a cross-platform application that allows students to scan their timetables and add all their sessions to their calendars. This saves students the trouble of manually entering their schedules and ensures they never miss a session.

Using Microsoft Azure Form Recognizer, the application scans an image of the timetable and transforms it into an array of sessions. The student can then check the information and add it to their calendar. The application prompts the student to sign in with their Microsoft account to add the sessions to their calendar. The application works seamlessly on iOS, Android, and Windows platforms.

With ScheduleEase, students can view their timetable from anywhere, and they never have to worry about forgetting a session. The solution is a proof of concept and minimum viable product, developed in just five days, but it has the potential to make a huge impact on students' lives. The team found .NET MAUI, Microsoft Form Recognizer, and Microsoft Graph to be intuitive and easy to learn. By leveraging the resources provided by Microsoft Learn and Hack Together, the team developed a solution that makes life easier for students in their community.

Agenda
22:36 – Demo ScheduleEase – Using Microsoft Graph and Azure Form Recognizer for optimizing productivity – Houssem Ayadi & Aziz

Overall the judges were impressed by the work to develop ScheduleEase in just five days! It was great to hear how the team were able to learn and use new technologies such as .NET MAUI, Microsoft Graph, and Azure AI Form Recognizer to develop the application. It's also nice to see how you focused on solving a common problem faced by students and came up with a practical solution. The ability to scan timetables and add sessions to the calendar can certainly help students manage their time more efficiently and avoid missing important classes. Well done on developing a minimum viable product and proof of concept in such a short period of time. We wish you and your team all the best with ScheduleEase!
