Microsoft Bookings simplifies the process of scheduling and managing appointments, whether you're coordinating with customers, clients, or colleagues.
Previously, Bookings enabled sending SMS text notifications to the people booking an appointment. The SMS notifications were sent when the attendees scheduled appointments via the published bookings page.
We are thrilled to announce SMS notifications for staff-scheduled appointments. Whenever an appointment is created in Bookings by the booking admin/scheduler/staff via the calendar scheduling experience, SMS confirmation & reminders will be sent to the attendee.
Requirements for sending SMS notification
SMS is a premium feature, as part of Teams Premium license. Hence, SMS notifications will only be sent if the assigned staff member has an active Teams Premium license.
Note: Attendees, customers or partners need a valid United States, Canada or United Kingdom phone number before they can receive SMS notifications.
How to get started?
In case SMS is enabled in your tenant, then this feature will be available to all users once released.
Note: SMS notifications are not supported for Group appointments.
