When working with Azure data services it is nearly impossible to ignore Azure AD. It is used not only simply for logging in to specific services but also for setting up custom OAuth token authentication flows. In the case of Azure Synapse Analytics, the same premise still applies, but we also face a multitude of components that often need to be handled in surprisingly different ways. To start making any sense of this, in this episode of Data Exposed: MVP Edition with Heini Ilmarinen and Anna Hoffman, we will walk through the essentials of what you need to know about Azure AD, and how to make the most out of Azure AD when setting up Azure Synapse Analytics - both in terms of giving users the access they require, as well as allowing an external service to authenticate to Synapse using Azure AD. All this hands-on and in under 10 minutes!
