Knee Deep, our swamp-noir adventure game that’s presented as a grand theatrical stage play, is now available for Xbox One. Experience a magical reality where characters are transported among scenes, set pieces moved into place, and music wafts from the orchestra pit.
In Knee Deep, you’re in control of a choice-driven murder mystery with a story that unfolds based on your decisions. As the curtains rise in Act 1, the suspicious suicide of a has-been actor in the swampland Florida town of Cypress Knee is the backdrop. You’ll play the role of three distinct characters: gloomy private investigator K.C. Gaddis, oddball online blogger Romana Teague, and down-and-out local reporter Jack Bellet. During your investigation, you’ll have control of defining your characters’ personalities, backstories, and driving motivations through a set of dialogue choices written by former Florida journalist and games writer, Wes Platt.
Use your skills of observation, deduction, and cleverness to pull back the curtain and reveal the true story behind this backwater conspiracy. Along your journey you’ll be tasked with publishing your findings to the world through a blog-writing mechanic, choosing your own spin to create a chain of reactions from the residents, authorities, and even your own editor-in-chief!
Getting your cast to talk will also be a challenge. What works with one leading character may cause trouble for another. Are you cautious, edgy, or inflammatory? Your critical choices will dynamically influence conversations with a cast of over 30 fully voiced supporting characters.
Developed by Prologue Games and originally released episodically, the Xbox One release contains all three Acts of Knee Deep. We hope all fans of choice-driven narrative games are excited to play, and feel free to follow @WalesInter or @PrologueGames to keep up to date with all the latest news on our game.
