All bets were off this past weekend as the Gears Pro Circuit Atlantic City Open welcomed over 60 teams to the Caesars Atlantic City Hotel & Casino, battling it out over a $200,000 prize pool and bragging rights as the best team in the Gears of War 4 esports scene.

In the end, OpTic Gaming emerged victorious to claim the crown for the fourth time in the Gears Pro Circuit, wrapping up an intense weekend full of upsets, drama and excitement. Following an incredible two days of preliminary action, which included some of the biggest names in professional gaming, six teams remained come Sunday, with OpTic Gaming and Team EnVyUs grinding their way to the Grand Finals.

The Grand Finals provided some of the best action thus far on the $1,000,000 Gears Pro Circuit and was a fitting end to the first major championship esports event in Atlantic City history. Despite bowing out to OpTic Gaming in the Winners Bracket Finals, The Boys in Blue would manage to tear down The Green Wall to force a final, deciding best-of-three series to determine who would claim the title.

After a thrilling series of matches, it would be OpTic Gaming recovering from their previous defeat to emerge as champions of the Gears Pro Circuit Atlantic City Open. In the video below, OpTic Gaming Justin “Kenny” Kenny shares more about what fuels him and his passion as a professional Gears of War 4 esports player.

Next stop for the global Gears Pro Circuit: Paris from Friday, May 5 to Sunday May 7. For more information about the Gears Pro Circuit, please visit www.gears.gg and follow us on Twitter @EsportsGears.
