Today we are excited to announce that popular student-engagement platform Pear Deck is integrating with Microsoft’s Immersive Reader! Pear Deck was founded by educators on a mission to help teachers deliver powerful learning moments for every student, every day. With solutions rooted in active learning and formative assessment, Pear Deck makes it easy for educators to connect with learners of every age and ability. Their integration with Immersive Reader further enhances the student experience with a set of powerful, interactive tools that support reading and comprehension skills while making learning more accessible for all students.

“Pear Deck is a simple way to improve instruction by connecting with every student, every day,” says Riley Eynon-Lynch, Pear Deck CEO. “I'm eager to see how Immersive Reader can make it even simpler to connect when reading text is a barrier between teachers and their students."

Since we launched the public preview of Immersive Reader as a Cognitive Service, we’ve seen a great deal of excitement from educators and schools eager to combine the power of Immersive Reader with Pear Deck’s intuitive instructional tool.

Kathy Blake teaches visually-impaired students at Bedford School District in New Hampshire and is a long-time Pear Deck user. After testing the new integration, Kathy shared, “Pear Deck's ability to engage and motivate students has made it a must-have instructional tool. Now that Immersive Reader is integrated with Pear Deck, students with print disabilities, including visual impairments, will be able to fully engage with the content the classroom teacher curates. This partnership is exactly what I have been waiting for!"

In choosing to integrate Immersive Reader, Pear Deck makes lessons and engaging content available for more learners of varied abilities. During this beta period, all of the capabilities built into Immersive Reader will be available to educators with access to Pear Deck’s Premium features.

The beta release of this integration is now rolling out and complements Pear Deck’s recent integrations with Microsoft Teams and PowerPoint Online.
