Another week comes to an end and with it comes another AzUpdate.  Let's explore some of the news that happened in the Azure world this week.

Azure CosmosDB Free tier

This week saw the launch of a free tier within Azure CosmosDB, which can be used to run development or test environment on or even small production workloads on for free.   There is a maximum of one free tier account per Azure subscription, but you do get the first 400 RU/s and 5GB of storage free.  I've used CosmosDB on a few side projects in the past and always been really impressed with it, seeing a free tier being introduced will hopefully give people more opportunity to try it out and evaluate whether it's a good fit for their project.

Weekly Update Video

As some of you may know already, I’ve been recording a weekly update video every week for the last 6 months.  I usually share some Azure news, talk about the community events or conferences I’ve been involved in and share some news about me and what I’ve been up to.  In this week’s video I talk about building acoustic panels to hang in my home office to help improve the audio in the room when I am recording.  Be sure to check it out and see what is possible from a DIY perspective.

I hope this short blog post provided you with some exciting news from this week, for all the other Azure news please follow the Azure announcements blog. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment.
