Experiencing Data Gaps issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types – 08/03 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 08/02, 17:54 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 08/02, 17:08 UTC and that during the 46  minutes that it took to resolve the issue some customers experienced intermittent metric data gaps and incorrect metric alert activation in Central India.
  • Root Cause: The issue was due to the failure of a service Application Insights depends on.
  • Incident Timeline:  46 minutes - 08/02, 17:08 UTC through 08/02, 17:54 UTC
We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.
