Experiencing Latency and Data Loss issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types – 08/24 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 8/24, 17:45 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 8/24, 17:15 UTC and that during the 30 minutes that it took to resolve the issue Customers with Application Insights components in Germany West Central between 10:15 AM and 10:45 AM PDT may have experienced intermittent data gaps and incorrect alert activation.

Up to 2.5% data lost affecting 1438 subscriptions.

  • Root Cause: The failure was due to networking connectivity issue
  • Incident Timeline: 30 minutes - 8/24, 17:15 UTC through 8/24, 17:45 UTC
We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.
