Experiencing Data Gaps issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types – 08/26 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 08/26, 08:22 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 08/26, 06:15 UTC and that during the 2 hours and 07 minutes that it took to resolve the issue some customers may have experienced intermittent data gaps and incorrect alert activation in West Europe region. 
  • Root Cause: We identified that a recent deployment that introduced an change to a backend service output configuration, which was causing requests to throttle resulting in data failures.
  • Incident Timeline: 2 Hours & 07 minutes - 08/26, 06:15 UTC through 08/26, 08:22 UTC
We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We are aware of issues within Application Insights and are actively investigating. Some customers may experience intermittent data gaps and incorrect alert activation in West Europe region.
