Experiencing Alerting Failure issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types – 12/09 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 12/09, 10:50 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 12/09, 10:10 UTC and that during the 40 minutes that it took to resolve the issue some customers may have experienced issues with missed alerts or missed alerts notifications.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to some backend dependency becoming unhealthy.
  • Incident Timeline: 40 minutes - 12/09, 10:10 UTC through 12/09, 10:50 UTC
We understand that customers rely on Azure monitors as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.
