Experiencing Alerting Failure issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types – 12/10 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 12/10, 13:10 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 12/10, 11:20 UTC and that during the 1 hour and 50 Minutes that it took to resolve the issue Some of customers may have experienced missed alerts or timeout while querying data.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to a backend component becoming unhealthy.
  • Incident Timeline: 1 Hour & 50 minutes - 12/10, 11:20 UTC through 12/10, 13:10 UTC
We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.
