Microsoft Purview supports self-service policies for Azure SQL Database tables and views

We are excited to announce the public preview of Microsoft Purview’s self-service data access policies for Azure SQLDB. This capability auto-generates policies that control access to tables and views within Azure SQL Database.

 

Earlier this year, we announced the support for ADLS gen 2 and Blob storage. Going forward, the data consumers will gain access to not only storage but also Azure SQL Database through self-service policies. Once the approvers listed in the self-service data access workflow approve the request, the requestor-data consumer- will gain access to the data via an autogenerated policy – self-service policy. We also support self-service policies for MSI, SPN and AAD groups. Check out video below to understand the feature
