Databricks announced today their official extension for VS Code. Developers love using VS Code and Databricks is committed to providing a first-class experience for developers using Azure Databricks in their IDE.

With this extension, Databricks brings all of the core capabilities of Azure Databricks to VS Code including securely connecting to workspaces, clusters, and data. Developers can utilize all their familiar features in VS Code like extensions, access to git tools, local unit testing, and debugging. Get the full power of Azure Databricks, in VS Code. From the IDE, developers can connect to Azure Databricks and their group’s workspace to collaborate with their team on files together. Users can connect to a cluster and run code there with the scale and performance of Azure Databricks, without leaving their IDE workflow.
Many developers spend most of their time in VS Code and want to develop all their data and AI apps there. With this extension, users stay in VS Code and get to take advantage of familiar features like autocomplete, code assistants, and their favorite extensions. There, they can use their team's existing software development best practices and integrations to build code the way that they are used to.
