As part of our Microsoft mission, to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more, our team recently created a new open-source GitHub repository called “Azure Health AI Services Samples”. This repository contains different samples applications and code to help you get started with the different Health-AI services. Based on these examples you will learn how to use our services, and accelerate your implementations.
I am excited to announce a brand new Health AI sample “The Intelligent Dashboard powered by Text Analytics for Health”, which is designed to automate the process of gathering and analysing unstructured healthcare data and convert it into valuable insights that can be used to improve patient care and outcomes.
The sample is powered by our Azure Health Data Services, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft PowerApps, and our Text Analytics for Health Service. The combination of these powerful tools make data analysis and visualization easier and faster. The Text Analytics for Health technology applies machine-learning intelligence to extract and label relevant medical information from a variety of unstructured texts such as doctor's notes, discharge summaries, clinical documents, and electronic health records.
The example PowerBI dashboard is accessible through a PowerApp, and can be customized to meet the unique needs of healthcare organizations. The app provides functionality to upload documents, which are securely stored on an Azure Storage Account. The documents are then automatically processed by Text Analytics for Health and transformed into structured FHIR format, which are then persisted into Azure Health data Services, which acts as a source for PowerBI.

One of the key features of the Intelligent Dashboard is its ability to generate population insights dashboards in PowerBI. These dashboards provide a graphical representation of the data, making it easier for healthcare professionals to identify trends and patterns. The sample already comes with a pre-build example dashboard.
